Murray Perahia gave a wonderful recital at Strathmore on Sunday afternoon, illuminating the standard canon.

Charles T. Downey reviewed the “pseudo-Baroque crossover” band L’Arpeggiata at the Library of Congress. (In the New York Times a few days earlier, Allan Kozinn called the group the house band of alt-classical’s early-music wing.)

Ute Lemper and the Vogler Quartet more than filled the Terrace Theater, thanks to some superfluous amplifciation; Robert Battey reported.
