Links: World’s greatest conductor?

In advance of Tuesday’s concert by the Concertgebouw, I profile Mariss Jansons, known to some as the greatest living conductor.

Earlier this week, Katherine Boyle followed up on her article about the Afghan Youth Orchestra with a report on their activities once they got to DC.

On the review front, Charles T. Downey checked out the violist Veit Hertenstein; Stephen Brookes enjoyed Misha Dichter and the Harlem String Quartet; and Joan Reinthaler heard the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra under Hannu Lintu.
