Adele breaks Billboard record, wins more awards; Howard Theater set to open in D.C.

Adele — more awards! (Dylan Martinez/Reuters)
- Time for your weekly Adele update. “21” has now spent 21 weeks at the top of the Billboard charts, knocking off “The Bodyguard” soundtrack for most time spent at the top. The album moved another 730,000 copies last week, fueled by her big night at the Grammys. She had another big awards night on Tuesday, taking home the Brit award for album of the year. She also flipped off cameras after being interrupted during a speech.

- The Going Out Gurus blog reports on the April re-opening of the Howard Theater. The former jewel of D.C. will host acts such as Wale, the Roots, Bad Brains and Esperanza Spalding in its first month.
