- It was beautiful skies and beautiful music at the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial dedication ceremony on the National Mall on Sunday. Stevie Wonder was there, as was Aretha Franklin, who the Post’s Michael Ruane reports, “delivered a moving rendition of the gospel hymn ‘Precious Lord,’ which she said was one of King’s favorites.”

- Sad news over the weekend: Iconic alt-rock couple Kim Gordon and Thurston Moore of Sonic Youth have announced that they’re separating. The band has some gigs booked in South America next month, but Sonic Youth’s future appears uncertain after that.

- Washington R&B singer Raheem DeVaughn was arrested Sunday alongside scholar (and DeVaughn collaborator) Cornel West at a protest on the steps of the Supreme Court speaking out against corporate influence on American politics.
