- In an effort to make sure Madison Square Garden didn’t host solely embarrassing displays of basketball over the weekend, the Beastie Boys streamed their upcoming album “Hot Sauce Committee Pt. 2” from the World’s Most Famous Arena by placing a boombox at center court. The veteran rap trio also has as many NBA playoff victories as the Knicks over the last 10 years.

- After Coachella came the metal. Metallica and Slayer led the Big 4 metal extravaganza in Indio, Calif., over the wekeend, which also featured Megadeth and Anthrax. It was the first U.S. concert featuring all four bands.
