- Chris Brown will play D.C.’s Verizon Center on Sept. 17 as part of The F.A.M.E. Tour. The R&B star will be joined by opening acts Kelly Rowland, T-Pain and Tyga. Tickets go on sale Monday at 10 a.m.
- A London warehouse fire has seriously depleted the stocks of many independent record labels. Beggars Group — which includes labels such as Matador, XL and Rough Trade — lost its entire U.K. collection, amounting to 750,000 copies of CDs and vinyl.
- Kanye West and Jay-Z’s collaborative “Watch the Thone” will debut at No. 1 on the Billboard charts next week with a stronger-than-expected 500,000-plus copies sold. The album is currently available only on iTunes.
