- E Street Band saxophonist Clarence Clemons is showing encouraging signs of recovery after suffering a stroke over the weekend. There has still been no official statement from the Springsteen camp.

- A (sort of) new Kanye West song! It’s called “Mama’s Boyfriend,” it was not included on “My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy”and should open Kanye up for even more bloggy psychoanalysis.

- One surefire highlight of the upcoming Smithsonian Folk Festival? Questlove’s Soul Train Dance Party on the National Mall on June 30. In other D.C. free music news, Fort Reno announced its summer schedule yesterday, indie-rock up-and-comers Givers will play a free mini-set at Sweetgreen Dupont Circle at 1 p.m. today, and here’s a whole bunch of other free shows in D.C. happening this summer.
