- Rapper Common is among one of many guests invited to The White House tonight for what is billed “An Evening of Poetry” hosted by the first family. This news was announced last week to little fanfare until yesterday when Fox News and Sarah Palin denounced him as “vile,” and not just because they thought “Universal Mind Control” was a weak effort. The event will go on as scheduled tonight.

- The final two concerts of Neil Young’s current tour will be filmed by Jonathan Demm e for an upcoming concert film. Footage from ast night’s show and tonight’s show at Massey Hall in Toronto will be pieced together by Demme for a third collaboration between the rock icon and Oscar-winning film director, following “Heart of Gold” and “Trunk Show.”

- Pink Floyd will remaster and reissue its entire catalogue, with a whole bunch of extras.
