- Adele underwent vocal cord microsurgery, an ailment which has caused her to cancel all of her remaining 2011 tour dates. She is expected to make a full recovery.

- Drake and Rick Ross are working together on a new mixtape, “Y.O.L.O. (You Only Live Once).” Ross guests on the Drake track “Lord Knows,” from Drake’s upcoming (and just-leaked) album “Take Care.” Ross has his own new album, “God Forgives I Don’t” due out in December.

- Neutral Milk Hotel frontman Jeff Mangum — reclusive no longer. After a string of tour dates this year, the beloved indie icon will embark on another tour in early 2012 and it includes a stop at D.C.’s Lincoln Theatre on Jan. 27. Tickets go on sale Friday.
