D’Angelo comeback seems to really be happening; LMFAO joining Madonna at Super Bowl?; Hulk Hogan could have joined Metallica?

- Looks like this D’Angelo comeback is really happening. The neo-soul star kicked off a European tour in Stockholm last night and even played a couple new songs. Might that new album be arriving in 2012?

- The latest guest to be sorta-confirmed for Madonna’s Super Bowl halftime show next Sunday — LMFAO . The party rockers join Nicki Minaj and M.I.A. as reported guests.

- How different might the world have been if instead of becoming a world-famous professional wrestler, Hulk Hogan instead became the bassist for Metallica? The Hulkster said this actually could have happened. He also digs the Stone Roses.

- In today’s Weekend section, hushed singer-songwriter Laura Gibson is profiled. She plays at Iota tonight. Also reviewed: local proggy-post-punk trio Imperial China (at Black Cat on Saturday); lounge-pop revivatlists the Asteroids Galaxy Hour (at Rock & Roll Hotel on Wednesday); local indie-pop sextet Lightfoot (at Black Cat on Friday); and jazz pianist Brad Mehldau (at Sixth & I Synagogue on Saturday).
