Etta James funeral set for Saturday; Ne-Yo joins Motown; Tom Petty talks Dylan

- The AP reports: “A public viewing will be held Friday for singer Etta James , and the Rev. Al Sharpton will eulogize the late legend at a private funeral Saturday.” The “At Last” icon passed away last week at the age of 73.

- Not only is R&B star Ne-Yo moving from Def Jam to Motown, but he’s taking on the role of senior VP of A&R for his new label.

- In other Google-knows-what’s-best-for-you-news, Google/YouTube has rejected the latest video from Perfume Genius , according to label Matador Records. The video, of two men embracing each other, was denied for “promoting mature sexual themes” and being “not family safe.”

- American Songwriter got Tom Petty to give some reflections on his time spent with his time spent working with Bob Dylan as part of its 30 Days of Dylan series.

- Peter Hook says he never gave Disney permission to make a Joy Division-inspired Mickey Mouse shirt.
