- Singer-songwriter Gavin DeGraw is recovering after being assaulted in New York City. He suffered a broken nose and other injuries and has been forced to cancel his scheduled Tuesday concert opening for Train and Maroon 5. He is stillscheduled to play with those two bands at Merriweather Post Pavilion on Aug. 24.

- The London riots have devestated many parts of the city and a recent casualty is the Sony DADC distribution warehouse, which holds records by more than a hundred indie labels distributed by PIAS group. A fire tore through the three-story building and many labels fear that they may have lost the majority of their merchandise.

- New show alert at Merriweather Post Pavilion: Lupe Fiasco, Wale, Miguel, Big Sean and Tinie Tempha will perform on Sept. 16. It’s been a while since Wale has had a major hometown performance. On the other hand, between last month’s Wiz Khalifa show, next month’s Virgin Mobile FreeFest and this show, Big Sean will take the Merriweather stage three times between July and September.

- In other local hip-hop news, Tabi Bonney has teamed with MURS for a new video for the song “Hip Hop & Love.” That’s the name of the fall tour the two are embarking on together, which will hit DC9 on Oct. 13. Watch the video below.
