Grammys announce first wave of performers: Taylor Swift, Nicki Minaj, Foo Fighters; Black Tambourine reunite

Taylor Swift might have something to prove at the Grammys this year. (Astrid Riecken/FTWP)
- Taylor Swift will perform at the the 54th Grammy Awards — her first time back on the Grammy stage since her not-so-great performance two years back when she also won Album of the Year. Also announced to perform at this year’s awards: Nicki Minaj, Jason Aldean, Kelly Clarkson, Foo Fighters and Bruno Mars, with more to be announced.

- Local lo-fi indie trailblazers Black Tambourine have reformed to perform a series of shows celebrating Chickfactor, the great ’90s magazine that once celebrated all things indie and twee. The band plays Artisphere in Arlington on April 7.

- If anything, the great surge in local hip-hop in recent years has produced a spate of music videos where our city’s streets figure prominently. The new video from Ashton Travis, a rapper from Houston-via-Howard-University, appears to be shot in one take on Mt. Pleasant Street. Watch below. (Warning: Explicit lyrics.)
