In today’s Post: Julieta Venegas, More Humans, Wu Lyf

In today’s Weekend section, Latin American superstar Julieta Venegas is profiled. The 40-year-old singer has resisted doing an English-language crossover album that could raise her profile in the U.S., saying, ”Spanish expresses who I am emotionally ... I think to translate an album into English or any other language, you have to be a different sort of artist.” She performs at the State Theatre on Wednesday.

Also in today’s Weekend section are reviews of new albums by: dynamic D.C. rock trio More Humans (at St. Stephens church on Saturday); dramatic, young U.K. outfit Wu Lyf (at Rock & Roll Hotel Sunday); jazz saxophonist Miguel Zenon (at Atlas Performing Arts Center on Wednesday); Brooklyn indie-pop band the Drums (at Black Cat on Sunday); and Philadelphia soul group Kindred the Family Soul (at Blues Alley Friday and Saturday).
