Jason Aldean headlines WMZQFest; Beach Boys set to release “Smile”; Kanye West to play SXSW

Jason Aldean headlines WMZQFest on May 21. (Josh Sisk/FTWP)
- WMZQFest, the annual country megashow at Jiffy Lube Live, will be headlined this year by Jason Aldean. The May 21 concert will also feature Eric Church and Janedear Girls, Steel Magnolia, Sunny Sweeney and Edens Edge.

- The most legendary unreleased album of all time will finally see an official release. “Smile,” the Beach Boys unfinished psychedelic pop masterpiece that Brian Wilson toiled over as he drifted into mental illness, will see a deluxe release later this year.

- As if Kanye West would let the biggest music gathering of the year happen without making an appearance. Yeezy is scheduled for a single SXSW performance in Austin this week, Saturday at midnight.

- Jazz drumming great Joe Morello , best known for his work with the Dave Brubeck Quartet, died Saturday at the age of 82.
