Kanye West/Jay-Z album coming soon?; New Wilco album and tour; Kareem Abdul-Jabaar and Smashing Pumpkins - what?

Does Ye have a patriotic surprise in store? (REUTERS/Mike Blake)
- Rumors abound that the highly anticipated Kanye West/Jay-Z collaborative album “Watch the Throne” will be released on July 4th.If so, we’ll have something to talk about on Tuesday.

- Wilco has a new album and fall tour. “The Whole Love” will be released on Sept. 27 and the band will visit Merriweather Post Pavilion on Sept. 25. A concert before the album is officially released? But that means we won’t know any of the new songs! Don’t worry — if NPR doesn’t have this baby streaming a week before its release then the world will probably be in some post-apocalyptic state anyway.

- Um ... here is a video of the NBA’s all-time leading scorer, Kareem Abdul-Jabaar ,promoting the new Smashing Pumpkins album?
