The official announcement isn’t expected until Monday, but it appears that the 2011 edition of
Virgin Mobile FreeFest
will take place at Merriweather Post Pavillion on Saturday, Sept. 10.
Texas rock troupe Okkervil River
announced that they’ll be playing the festival earlier today, although the concert’s promoters would not confirm the date. As for the other acts scheduled to perform, we can only guess. Keep visiting Click Track for more FreeFest updates between now and Monday.
Updated at 6:02 p.m.: Okkervil River’s publicist has contacted Click Track to say that the band’s tour announcement that was published on Pitchfork and Consequence of Sound earlier today was in fact “erroneous” and that the band has not confirmed that date for the festival.
