Back in June, Tom Petty wasn’t too pleased to learn that Republican presidential hopeful Michele Bachman (R-Minn.) was playing his tune “American Girl” at her campaign rallies. He asked her to cut it out.

Five weeks later, Bachmann has found a musician to take her side. Country star Randy Travis will perform at an Aug. 13 straw poll event Bachmann is hosting in Iowa.

“I am a huge Randy Travis fan and I am honored he will be with us on August 13 to help make this day fun and meaningful for our supporters and their families,” Bachmann said in a statement.

Country singers Richie McDonald and Tim Rushlow, and Christian artist Charles Billingsley are also scheduled to perform.
