Remember that show “Mad Men” and the awesome RJD2 song that came with it?

Only 156 days until March 16, 2012. That’s when AMC’s “Mad Men” returns to television after nearly a year and a half off the cablewaves. It’s a fine TV program, sure, but what we really miss is RJD2’s indelible theme music that kicks off every episode with the frisson of a dozen Bond themes.

With RJD2 performing at the 9:30 Club tonight, we decided to re-link an interview from 2010 where the hip-hop producer spoke about “Mad Men” and his affinity for old-school television tunes. “I grew up with ‘Knight Rider’ and ‘Airwolf’ and ‘The Price Is Right’ and the ‘Scooby-Doo’ theme,” he told Click Track last year. “There’s some amazing music that was written for TV back in those days.”
