- The new video for Rihanna’s “Man Down” features the 23-year-old pop star shooting and killing a man. The Parents Television Council, among other groups, is not too happy with this violence and has asked that BET and all Viacom channels stop airing the clip.

- Boomer favorites Buffalo Springfield — featuring Stephen Stills, Richie Furay and Neil Young — kicked off its first tour in 43 years last night. Rolling Stone has the report.

- The lineup for the annual Fort Dupont Summer Concert Series (link opens a PDF) has been announced and it features old-school R&B/soul names such as the Manhattans, Zapp, the Barkays and Mandrill. All shows are free and kick off on July 9.
