Van Halen returns; Music biz takes its temperature; Bjork is for the children

- How did the music industry fare in 2011? Spin has parsed Nielsen SoundScan’s year-end album sales review and Pollstar has analyzed the top 200 North American concert tours.

- Bjork will kick off a residency-style string of shows in New York City starting in February — and she’ll be hosting an educational workshop for middle school students, too. Pretty cool.
