Comic Riffs is a blog devoted to the comics fan. Come in, sit down and put your feet up as we celebrate, contemplate, eviscerate and pontificate on cartoons.
Well now they've gone and done it.
Last month, Comic Riffs suggested that Comedy Central hire the artists who work for Taiwan's Next Media Animation television, whose celebrity-driven, scandal-happy CGI animations make for great campy fun. Well, this week, the folks at NMA.tv have a new topical target: American newspapers.
In other words, seems we've drawn fire from the very Taiwan talent that has drawn such inspired, cheeky parody.
Today, NMA.tv takes aim specifically at New York's newspaper wars (as well as certain online news "content"). But we're on high alert: Now, apparently, no American newspaper is safe from these animators' slings and arrows and, um, shark fins. To say nothing of the parakeet and the "moose on the table" allusion (good eye, reader "Alan_A").
Ah, whom are we kidding? Keep the parodic lobs comin', Taiwan. Comic Riffs is too busy snickering ("The Daily Rehash"!) from inside the bunker to object.
