BOX OFFICE: 'Toy Story 3' now Disney's biggest non-Depp film ever

With the weekend's final box-office numbers out this afternoon, it's official: "Toy Story 3" is now the most successful Disney film not to star Johnny Depp.

Pixar/Disney's "Toy Story 3" has now grossed $940.1-million globally, according to boxofficemojo; the only Disney pictures to earn more worldwide are the second and third "Pirates of the Caribbean" films and "Alice in Wonderland."

"Toy Story 3," of course, is also the most successful animated film ever, having outdistanced Dreamworks Animation's "Shrek 2" ($919.8-million). The green ogre's second film still remains the biggest animated film domestically -- and fifth all-time -- at $441-million. "Toy Story 3" ($400.8-million) is poised to pass "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" any day now and crack the all-time domestic Top 10.

And a quick bit of trivia: Adjusted for ticket-cost inflation, the most successful animated film ever domestically remains -- anyone? anyone? -- Disney's "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" from 1937, which grossed $866.5-million in 2010 dollars.
