DC Comics lifts veil on the First Issue releases

As many comics fans continue to debate the worth and wisdom behind flipping the “issue number” odometer on decades of history, DC Comics followed up today with a further unveiling:

The creative teams behind the “first issues” for such superheroes as Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Green Arrow and the Flash were announced on DC’s Source blog.

The new pairings will include:

Brian Azzarello and artist Cliff Chiang for Wonder Woman No.1.

Geoff Johns and Ivan Reis for Aquaman No. 1 (cover by Reis and Joe Prado).

Francis Manapul and Brian Buccellato for the Flash No. 1.

Ethan Van Scive, Gail Simone and Yildiray Cinar for the Fury of Firestorm No. 1.

Eric Wallace and Roger Robinson for Mister Terrific No. 1.

Tony Daniel and Philip Tan for the Savage Hawkman No. 1.

JT Krul and Dan Jurgens for the Green Arrow No. 1 (cover by Brett Booth).

More “first issue” creative teamings can be found at the DC site.
