... OPRAH WINFREY. To which Comic Riffs has just one question: Isn't the mighty Oprah already a comic book-esque superheroine, given that:
1. She doesn't need no stinkin' golden lasso to get the sobbing-confession truth out of people, reducing them to pitiable pools of emotional surrender.
2. From Dr. Phil to Rachael Ray, she can launch an entire cottage industry with the flick of her queenly endorsement.
3. She gives away high-ticket items that, in total worth, rival the GNP of a burgeoning island nation.
4. Like Batman, she doesn't always need a male sidekick in the picture when taking down social scofflaws, deadbeat dads and busted My Life Is A Lie authors.
Just sayin'.
