FIRST LOOK: Bluewater Comics unveils BETTY WHITE comic book

Bluewater Comics might be facing a legal threat over its Justin Bieber comic, but that won't delay the publisher from pursuing a bio-book about another celebrity recently boosted by social media: BETTY WHITE.

Bluewater has announced that the America's Grandmother -- the iconic, tart-tongued 88-year-old show-biz veteran -- will be spotlighted in a November comic for its "Female Force" line. (Above, Bluewater gives Comic Riffs a "first look" at one Betty White cover.)

"I have been a fan of Betty White forever and a day from her time on 'Mary Tyler Moore,' 'Password' to the 'Golden Girls,' Bluewater honcho Darren G. Davis tells Comic Riffs. "I even watched the reruns of 'Life with Elizabeth.'

"She has always been in the back of my head to do something with and then came the media blitz," Davis continues. "So we held off on doing something for a little bit, but it does not seem to be dying down. So not only telling her biography, we really focus on what she has done with animal rights. She is a legend in the television world and now is taking the industry by storm."

Finally, a Bluewater "superhero" who was well into her teens before Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman were even born.
