Some days, for the lightest of twisted humor, nothing pleases quite like "the existential angst of a certain young Mr. Jon Arbuckle" in "Garfield Minus Garfield."
Comic Riffs has cited "GMG" early and somewhat often, but for the few still uninitiated, the comic "is a journey deep into the mind of an isolated young everyman as he fights a losing battle against loneliness and depression in a quiet American suburb."
That, and as many adults leading lives of quite American suburb (and urban) desperation will tell you, it's just plain funny -- oftentimes more deeply amusing than its source material.
Which is why we were happy to see that the good (and eternally "sophomore-ic") folks at CollegeHumor.com have produced a short video clip that depicts a live-action "Garfield Minus Garfield." Had we a spare mill or two to buy the TV rights, we'd be getting our agent on the mobile this very minute:
"GARFIELD MINUS GARFIELD":
