As earlier rumored, Mark Ruffalo indeed took the Hall H stage as your new Hulk. And with that, Marvel Studios completed its A-list "Avengers" casting just in time for an astride-the-stage group pic that looks vaguely like the reunion shot of a classic-rock act.
So for the record -- to capture this moment of billion-dollar posterity -- the Con's Marvel panel "superheroes" who (mostly) took the crowd by storm were:
Robert Downey Jr. [left to right], Clark Gregg, Scarlett Johansson, Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Samuel L. Jackson, Jeremy Renner, Mark Ruffalo, director Joss Whedon and Marvel Studios' President/producer Kevin Feige.
Downey reportedly praised Christopher Nolan's "Inception" yet threw down the DC-vs.-Marvel big-screen gauntlet when he whipped up the crowd by saying "The Avengers" would be even more mind-blowing.
Mind-blowing? Director Whedon, taking the opposite tack, merely told the crowd: "I am going to blow it."
