DC’s promotional dribblings come at almost a daily pace these days. Already this week, the “Man of Steel” filmmakers have announced that Laurence Fishburne is their new Perry White — and we’ve been treated to street-level footage aplenty of “The Dark Knight Rises” as the film shoots in Pittsburgh.
To keep the momentum going, WB today has released the first image of Henry Cavill in costume from “Man in Steel” — as Supes, befitting a reboot, emerges as if forged from sparks worthy of a GM pickup ad.
The British actor — best known in the States for playing Charles Brandon in Showtime’s “The Tudors” — was cast in January as the lead in Zack Snyder’s film.
The cast for the Superman reboot includes Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Michael Shannon as Zod, and Diane Lane and Kevin Costner as Ma and Pa Kent, and Julia Ormond and Russell Crowe as Superman’s native Kryptonian folks. Christopher Nolan, who is directing “Dark Knight Rises,” is overseeing “MoS.”
Just two weeks ago, the studio announced that “Man of Steel” is being pushed back from December 2012 to June 2013.
