Sometimes a cigarette is just a cigarette. But in the case of Herman Cain’s recent TV ad, perhaps what was really producing smoke — and fire — was a wick on his powderkeg of a PR campaign.
Comic Riffs said the other week that many political cartoonists were feasting on ready-made Godfather’s metaphors. But now, with a fourth Cain accuser having come forward, many of the nation’s satirists have had a whole new deep dish.
Nothing complements the aroma of comedic pizza, apparently, quite like the whiff of sexual scandal.
On Monday, of course, Sharon Bialek accused Cain of sexual harassment when she was seeking employment from the future GOP candidate in the '90s. That was enough spark to fuel much satire fire among political cartoonists.
