'NEXT GREAT CARTOONIST': See the 'Imogen Quest' comic that DIDN'T make today's paper

THE "UNSEEN" STRIP:

THE PUBLISHED STRIP:

Here are two versions of today's "IMOGEN QUEST" comic from Olivia Walch, the 21-year-old winner of The Post's "America's Next Great Cartoonist Contest." So, what's the story -- why did the cartoonist reject her earlier attempt for the one that was published in today's Post?

"I actually like the unpublished bears cartoon better than the one I [submitted]," Walch tells Comic Riffs. "But this one came from the first week I submitted, and three of the seven from that week would have prominently featured laptops had I included my preferred version.

"My concern," Walch continues, "was that: 1) people would think I only had one type of joke; and 2) people would realize how terrible I am at drawing laptops. They all look the same."

If you have feedback about "Imogen Quest's" monthlong run in Style and on Comic Riffs, feel free to share your impressions.
