'NEXT GREAT CARTOONIST': The five-strip process behind today's 'IMOGEN QUEST' comic

Here are five versions of today's "IMOGEN QUEST" comic from Olivia Walch, the 21-year-old winner of The Post's "America's Next Great Cartoonist Contest." So, what's the story: Why was today's cartoon a five-step process -- from sketch to edit to final submission?

"I think the five versions of the cartoon before it was accepted [by The Post] tell this story far better than I could," Walch tells Comic Riffs. So taking her cue, without further ado, here are the five iterations of today's toon:
