SUPERMAN’S NEW TEAM: Jim Lee and Scott Snyder will join forces on new Supes title

The hot August rumors are true:

Two stellar DC talents will team for a Superman run.

DC Entertainment has just announced that its co-publisher Jim Lee and acclaimed Batman writer Scott Snyder will launch a Supes title next year.

As DC writes in its statement announcing the pairing: “This is as can’t miss as these things get, people.”

“I’m looking forward to drawing Superman as much as I am reading Scott’s story as it unfolds,” Lee, who’s just coming off Justice League, said in the statement.

“I’ll just say it’s the Superman story I’d write if I only ever got one chance to write the character, “ Snyder, the acclaimed American Vampire and Swamp Thing writer, said in the release. “It’s an exploration of everything I love and am fascinated by about him. Like Court of Owls for Batman, it’s a character piece for Clark — it’s going to challenge him to his core.”

DC has not yet released publishing dates for the title. Zack Snyder’s feature film “Man of Steel” is due for release next June 14.

DC tells Comic Riffs that both Lee and Snyder are making appearances at New York Comic Con, which kicks off today and runs through Sunday.
