THE WRITING WAS already on the studio wall. On Tuesday, Disney honcho Bob Iger simply crossed the “T’s” in “The Avengers Two.”
In a conference call Tuesday with reporters, the Disney CEO gave official word that an “Avengers” sequel is in development — one day after the Disney/Marvel film obliterated the record for a domestic debut by grossing $207.4-million.
“Avengers’ “ success “is a great illustration of why we like Marvel so much,” said Iger, according to Deadline Hollywood.
Already slated, of course, is “Iron Man” 3 and “Thor” 2 for next year, and the second “Captain America” for 2014.
