Hearty congratulations go out to Washington Post reader "W. Parham," who's a national finalist in the Great Non Sequitur Sign-Off [Caption] Contest.
Universal Press Syndicate has announced that Parham -- who lists The Post as "hometown newspaper" -- reached the Final Four with the punning caption: "Today's Special: Chopped Sir-loin."
The other three finalists are:
M. Cameron (Austin American Statesman), with the caption: "Entrée: Vous."
K. Lew (Seattle Post-Intelligencer) with the caption: "Homme Cooking."
J. Dorazio (The Times Beaver Newspapers Inc., Penn.) with the caption: "Today's Special! Manwich."
Now it's the readers' turn to pick a winner. Folks can vote HERE for their favorite caption to fill Wiley Miller's sandwich-board sign.
You can vote through Dec. 11 (as in, this Friday -- so don't tarry). The winner will be announced in the "Non Sequitur" cartoon that runs Dec. 21.
And we can't help but note that in our own "Best Comic of the Decade" polling, "Non Sequitur" has been among the leading candidates. So if you're a true-blue "Non Sequitur" supporter and haven't pledged your fandom, please be sure to do this right HERE.
Now, good luck to the entire "Non Sequitur" Final Four -- the entire quartet of captions would be worthy of the comics page.
