UPDATE: Cartoonists finish journalistic journey in Afghanistan

After a month of traveling unembedded in Afghanistan, Matt Bors tells Comic Riffs that he and fellow cartoonists Ted Rall and Steven Cloud are now out of the wartorn nation.

"I'm safely out of Afghanistan and en route to America," Bors writes us.

The Portland-based cartoonist, who had never traveled outside North America before as an adult, says: "The trip was amazing and very eye-opening."

We hope to hear more from Bors and his graphic-journalist colleagues once they return
