THE META-POST: Through history's looking-glass...
As Comic Riffs finally catches Tim Burton's full "Alice in Wonderland" today -- in all its CGI-rich glory -- we can't help but note that the first "Alice in Wonderland" was made more than a century ago, in 1903.
Released not four decades after Lewis Carroll put Alice to paper, the only surviving print of the film -- directed by Percy Stow and Cecil Hepworth -- was said to be "severely damaged" -- but has been partially restored to its original tints by the British Film Institute. May Clark plays the ever-shrinking and growing Alice (such winning effects for Aught-Three!).
"Drink me!" "Eat me!" Enjoy me.
