Who knew Kanye West's sudden embrace of Twitter and the longtime pithy humor of The New Yorker's cartoons would make for such a viral marriage?
And perhaps the more important question now is: Which Kanye/New Yorker mashup reigns supreme? (Or as Kanye himself might tweet: "Which car2n is as dope as vintage Hermes yo?")
Since Kanye took to Twitter late last month, he's quickly amassed more than 400,000 followers by offering thoughts that read rather alternately as random brain spasms and smartly surreal lyrics. And most all of them unfailingly ring as unabashedly Kanye, he of the Vuitton-don lifestyle and "baby mama jets."
Now set those tweets against the studied and precise wit of so many New Yorker cartoons, and Twitter fans have a whole new game.
How do they read? Here's a sampling and -- here's another sampling. Or: You can check out Comic Riffs's quickie mashups below and readily do better.
Meantime, the questions is still out there awaiting verdict: Which Kanye/New Yorker mashup reigns supreme?
"I love everybody... only thing I don't like is taxes.. me and taxes gone fight."
"listening to the new RZA beats on my album.... and the Goose is setting in!!!"
"I need a flight to Brazil soon as possible."
"Vintage Hermes travel bags are tight yo."
