"I have decided that people like me, who presume to critique comic strips, are anuses."
Such is the self-realization -- perhaps even the tongue-in-cheek epiphany with an, um, surprise end -- of Post Magazine humor columnist Gene Weingarten.
As he prepares to debut his Washington Post Writers Group comic strip "Barney & Clyde" on Monday, Weingarten peeks out from behind his twin Pulitzers to talk with Comic Riffs about how his cartoon came to be -- notably after years of critiquing other strips himself.
So look for Comic Riffs's Q&A with Weingarten on Friday morning right here, where we will discuss billionaires and bums. And yes, Gene apparently means "bums" in multiple senses of the word.
See you then.
