15 men sought in two assaults, robberies at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond

Police are looking for about 15 men suspected of two violent robberies and assaults at Virginia Commonwealth University early Wednesday morning.

According to the Richmond Times-Dispatch, the separate attacks occurred around the same time, 2:55 a.m., along Shafer Street on the Monroe Park campus.

In the first attack, the victim, who was not a student, reported being punched while getting out of a car. The second victim, a VCU student, reported being knocked to the ground and then robbed.

Both victims told police the assailants were part of a group of 15 black men between the ages of 17 and 22, the Times-Dispatch reported.
