Seventeen people have been charged and drugs, guns and cash were seized as part of a three-year probe into a drug trafficking ring in the D.C. area, authorities announced Tuesday.
The defendants from the District and suburban Maryland were charged on August 4 with intent to distribute cocaine, crack cocaine and marijuana, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia said.
More than $600,000 in cash, illegal narcotics, four vehicles and six firearms were seized during raids, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office. So far, 15 of the 17 people charged have been arrested.
If convicted, the defendants face a minimum of 10 years in prison and a maximum of life in prison.
