Two District men were arrested in Orlando on Tuesday in connection with the connection with the killing of a 22 year-old man last week on a Metrobus in Southeast Washington, D.C. police said.
Florida authorities arrested Vincent Gray, 21, of Southeast and Delron Atchison, 22, of Northeast, on warrants charging them with second-degree murder, said Officer Hugh Carew, a spokesman.
Gray and Atchison are currently being held in the Orange County, Fla., jail.
Police said that Thompson, 22,
was found in the street in the 2100 block of Alabama Avenue SE shortly after midnight. He had been aboard a W4 bus heading east on Alabama Avenue SE, toward his mother’s home.
D.C. police released a short video Thursday showing what they described as two “persons of interest” boarding the bus just before the shooting and asked for the public’s help in identifying the people in the clip.
Atchison and Gray will be held in Florida on fugitive from justice charges pending their extradition, D.C. police said.
The killing was one of at least nine in the city in eight days.
