2 shot in Prince William

Two people were shot and wounded Wednesday night in the Dumfries area, Prince William County police said.

Police were called for a shooting at a residence in the 2900 block of Weatherburn Court about 8:30 p.m., said Officer Jonathan Perok, a spokesman. Two adult victims were found wounded at the scene and taken to a hospital.

The victims, who police did not identify by age or gender, were expected to survive.

Police said the shooting may have been part of an on-going dispute, but officials declined to release details. Police released no description of the assailant or assailants.
