3 sought in Columbia jewelry heist

Three men stole several hundred thousand dollars of jewelry Wednesday in a midday heist at the Mall in Columbia, Howard County police said.

The trio threatened employees of Edward Arthur Jewelers with a gun and made off with jewelry from a case the store’s workers emptied, said police.

No one was injured in the robbery, which occurred shortly before 1 p.m. in the 10300 block of Little Patuxent Parkway in Columbia.

Images of the suspects were gleaned from mall surveillance cameras, said police, who are offering up to $5,000 for information on the men’s identities. Information can be relayed to o410-313-STOP and callers may remain anonymous, police said.
