Child hit by car in Northwest D.C.

A 19-month-old child was hit by a car in the 3600 block of Jenifer St NW around noon, said D.C. Fire/EMS spokesman Pete Piringer.

The child was taken to a hospital with serious, life-threatening injuries, Piringer said.

D.C. police are on the scene investigating the accident, which happened in a residential section of the Chevy Chase neighborhood.
