Robbers used Taser-like electrical devices to stun cab drivers in two holdups in Montgomery County three weeks ago, and police said Tuesday they have arrested three suspects.
The first robbery occurred about 1:15 a.m. on January 10 in Clarksburg after a cab was summoned to an address on Brewers Tavern Road, police said. A man flagged down the cab, got in and used the device on the driver before stealing cash and fleeing. The driver suffered minor injuries.
In the second incident, a driver took two people from the Rockville Metro station to an address on Lawrence Drive. One of the passengers then used the device to stun the driver before taking money and fleeing.
Regency Cabs were involved in both incidents, and the drivers suffered minor injuries in each.
