Apartment-hunters attacked in Alexandria

Two women responding to an advertisement for an apartment in Alexandria Tuesday were pulled into a vacant building and beaten, Alexandria police said.

They said the incident occurred about 5:30 p.m. in the 2200 block of Mill Road.

Police said the women resisted their assailant and were able to flee the building.

The site is north of the Capital Beltway and east of the Eisenhower Avenue Metro station.
