3 arrested in $300,000 Md. jewelry heist

Police have arrested three men for allegedly stealing about $300,000 worth of high-end watches from a Columbia jewelry store last week.

Police said the men entered the Edward Arthur Jewelers on Little Patuxent Parkway, displayed a gun and demanded jewelry from a case on March 30. Store employees handed over the watches and the men fled. No one was injured during the robbery.

Deontaye Derrick Harvey, 20, Gary Donnell Braxton Jr., 25, and Aaron Pratt, 19, were charged with armed robbery, first and second degree assault, use of a handgun in the commission of a felony, reckless endangerment and theft. All three are Baltimore residents.

A person recognized the suspects from surveillance photos of the robbery distributed by police and tipped off authorities. The suspects were arrested over the weekend and are being held at the Howard County Detention Center. Harvey is being held without bond. Braxton and Pratt are being held on $250,000 bond.
