50 to graduate from Pr. George’s police academy

UPPER MARLBORO, Md. — Fifty recruits are graduating from the Prince George’s County police academy.

The graduation ceremony is scheduled for Thursday evening at the Dr. Henry A. Wise High School in Upper Marlboro.

Forty-six of the police recruits are set to join the county police department, three will join the city of Bowie police department and one will join the Maryland National Capital Park Police.

Among the officials scheduled to attend Thursday’s ceremony are County Executive Rushern Baker III, county police chief Mark Magaw, Bowie police chief John Nesky, Larry Brownlee Sr., the chief of the Maryland National Capital Park Police, and Barry L. Stanton, the county’s deputy chief administrative officer for public safety.
