50-year-old woman hit, sexually assaulted in Merrifield area, police say

A 50-year-old woman was struck with a blunt object and sexually assaulted by two men in the Merrifield area early Friday morning, Fairfax County police said.

The attack occurred behind a building in the 2400 block of Gallows Road around 1:10 a.m., police said. The suspects took cash from the victim, before fleeing in an unknown direction.

Police are developing suspect descriptions, which could be released later Friday.
